During this appeal the club is trying to raise much needed funds to help replace aged equipment.
The club is also looking for any companies out there that would like to help a local club achieve even more. Your money could help create a club within Manchester that can produce even more World Class athletes. To contact us please go to our ‘About Us’ page and get in touch.
The Salford and Fearns Tariff
With little time to spare and with great sacrifice on behalf of the club, the parents group and committee slip into action. It has been many moons since the last Salford and Fearns tariff, as a matter of fact a whole year since. After the disappointment of last year’s Christmas tariff being cancelled ‘twice’ due to lack of interest, we decided to give everyone the competition information well in advanced. In fact they were given out a whole six months before the summer tariff and a whole year before the Christmas tariff entry deadlines. This was with the hope of getting large amounts of clubs entering our competitions. It would seem that June and July are a popular time of year for tariff competitions with one running from the last weekend in June till the second to last in July.
The Young Girls from Salford's Sunday Recreational Trampoline Programme Winning Team Gold,(Abby Burns, Bobbie Taylor, Holly Taylor and Libby Burns) congratulations to you all.)
With all those competitions in mind the entry list of seventy two children from three different clubs gave us the competition line up for the, ‘Salford and Fearns Summer tariff’. A wise man once said, “It’s not the size, it’s what you do with it”. Never a truer word spoken ingest, and with that in mind the competition went ahead. As with all tariff competition the aim is to allow our recreational bouncer the opportunity to enjoy competition and pit their skills against the others within the region and within their tariff bracket.
The results can be found on our ‘Calendar and Results’ page, go to the Summer tariff and click on Results and you can download the excel spread sheet with the results on. We hope everyone enjoyed the competition and look forward in welcoming back all of you and more to our Christmas Tariff on the 19th December 2010.
The HUB becomes the City of Salford future home
(The Designed Picture of the HUB building in the process of being built and what will be our new home.)
It may not yet be public knowledge around the City of Salford Trampoline Club but we are due to move to a new building in late 2011. The club has been in constant negotiations with the council about a new building or extensions to the current building for many years. Due to much needed redevelopment within the Broughton area, the council has decided got planning permission and acquired the funding to build an all in one community centre which is being aptly named the ‘HUB’. It has been many years in the making and has taken a lot of time to and money to get the plans drawn up and approved by the local community.
(Picture of the site being prepared for the HUB building to be built upon. Date: May 2010)
In the hub there will be a public Library, small Cafe, Sure start children’s centre and a community youth centre. Not to mention the meeting rooms that will be available to the inhabitants of the building. With this great opportunity comes sacrifice as the club has had to reduce it plans to create a huge centre which would contain many individual sports clubs. Such as Judo, Boxing, Fencing, Gymnastics, Trampolining, DMT, Tumbling and so on. Due to the current financial situation it was clear that this was a step too far and we as a club would have to rain the ideas back.
This picture below is an artist’s drawing of what the HUB will look like from the outside, the tall multicoloured part on the right hand side is the Trampoline Clubs hall.
As you can see and impressive sight and an exciting time for the club on a hole as this would go a long way to make us more visible to the local community. This could make it easier to recruit new gymnasts and increase our class sizes helping the club to become more financially sound in the future.
The club will receive its own space that it, (the club) will run independently. Although there is a communal entry past a reception desk the club will have its own internal entrance. The club is looking to get finance for new equipment and has already confirmed plans for floor sunken trampolines with a foam pit at the end. The club is also looking to purchase a 16m tumble track and have both the DMT and the tumble track running up to the pitted area. This is just a glimpse of what we have to look forward to in the future and I hope you all agree that the prospect of a new centre with all the trimmings is a very exciting thing indeed.
